The importance of energy storage has grown significantly, mainly due to the rapid expansion of solar power plant capacities in Hungary.

This makes the review of the business scenarios of different types of energy storage systems, with the prospects of systems combined with solar power plants essential.

These topics, along with the current trends and challenges, will be discussed at the Portfolio Corporate Energy Management 2025 event, where our CEO, Dávid Kodaj, will also be among the presenters.

Today we launched the new era of solar power plants of Hungary.

Our well-tailored design consists of a 499 kVA photovoltaic "KÁT" powerplant and an aFRR ready BESS capable of providing its nominal power for 2 hours for a remarkable up to 10 years, having a nameplate power of 499 kVA and capacity of more than 1500 kWh.

We are pairing the 2 powerplant units on low voltage (400 V) with a virtual POD for the battery energy storage, eliminating the need for a transforming station. All this is regulated via a state of the art local control technology with SCADA and HMI.

On this Friday, 3 systems were fully commisioned with a total capacity of more than 4.5 MWh, totalling our EPC project site hybridisation for more than 8.5 MWh in the last 6 months.

It is the 7th of March in 2025, in the evening hours.

The hybrid, battery energy storage powered power plants, developed and and installed by KKS-Energy are all discharging at their nominal power levels.

This means, we are currently mobilizing 3,5 MW of power in the peak price hours with our state of the art local EMS systems, for 3 hours straight.

All of our hybrid systems are future ready and aFRR accreditated for flexible usage.

We celebrate this event with the premier of our "How It's Made?" video of the first hybrid, zero-feed in power plant commissioned by KKS-Energy. This site successfully completed 6 month of operation already.

We are excited to share our latest project with CHINT Solar!

In August, we successfully comissioned the 150MW photovoltaic power plants established in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén.

This project is a perfect example of how we can support our partners from idea to implementation.

In this project we localized and created execution designs, provided technical management services, did the full commissioning and occupancy permit.

We are proud that our client entrusted us with various aspects of the project, and we are delighted that we could support this project in multiple scopes.

We are extremely happy that our Head of Progam Management, Tamas Pinter, was able to share some practical experiences regarding battery storage system projects in Hungary.

We are confident to say that we are one of fhe most experienced companies working on hashtag#BESS projects in Hungary, with over 1000 MWh of projects in our engineering department.

We are also extremely proud that we already have installed a total capacity of 7 MWh as an EPC, gaining first-hand experience to create the most value for our customers in the future.

It was an honor to present at the annual MEE Vándorgyűlés and represent KKS-Energy.

I'm proud of the results we have achieved over the past five years, which I was able to share with the Hungarian energy sector. Energy storage has become a hot topic in Hungary, and I’m seeing increasing interest in the market. Our team has been involved in projects totaling nearly 500MW/1000MWh in aggregated capacity, contributing in various phases such as design, permitting, and execution. In my presentation, I highlighted two of our most important completed projects.

In Hungary, energy storage projects is still in its early stages, there is no "well-known paths", continuous collaboration with industry stakeholders is essential. The conference provided an excellent platform to facilitate these important discussions.

Today we successfuly completed a milestone in Hungarian energetics.

The battery energy storage system succesfully built and integrated by KKS-Energy was able to power an entire factory for more than 2 hours in the peak power usage time today.

Our solution containing 3.1 MVA of PV and a 2 MVA/4MWh BESS was succesfully commisioned today and the first cycles were completed.

This system is unique as this is the first utility size behind-the-meter, zero feed-in hybrid system in the region.
